BAPC 2023 - Boston Area Pedagogy Conference
Northeastern’s World Languages Center (WLC) invites proposals for the fourth Boston Area Pedagogy Conference.
In line with a recent call for promoting competencies for democratic culture, the concept of intercultural citizenship has taken center stage. Intercultural citizenship refers to competencies such as valuing cultural plurality and fluidity, being open to cultural others, possessing linguistic, communicative, and plurilingual skills, and having knowledge and a critical understanding of language and communication. Language educators can contribute to this critical need by fostering their students’ intercultural competence and citizenship, enabling them to see beyond their personal experiences. Call for proposals deadline: January 27, 2023 Keynote Speaker: Manuela Wagner Professor of Language Education in the Department of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages at the University of Connecticut |
